I found her sitting on the couch holding a cup of tea with both hands. The steam curled around her head and mixed with her hair. ‘I’m so cold. Help me.’ Her eyes were dry, looking ahead into nothing, no visions, no dreams, nothing. 'I want to die', she said under her breath.
I handed her a knife and smiled. 'Take me with you', i said. 'Where you go, i'll go there too.'
A black cat walked between us pawing at the papers. The white roses in the windowsill never moved. A stack of books was to be our headstone.
'I'll miss you', she said.
'I know', i said.
‘Ready?’
‘I’ll miss you’
